CLASSChristian Life and Service Seminars

The Christian Life and Service Seminars (CLASS) series bring new members and those interested in knowing more about the purpose, teaching, and ministries of Metropolitan through a five part program of discipleship. The series, modified from the Saddleback materials to match the doctrinal and practical positions of Metropolitan Baptist Church, have five levels. CLASS 101 consists of teachings related to what it means to be a member at MBC. CLASS 201 trains believers in discipleship, devotion, and spiritual warfare. CLASS 301 helps believers understand their spiritual SHAPE so they know how best to minister in the Body of Christ. CLASS 401 leads believers through an understanding of the Great Commission and the Great Commandment as part of our everyday life in Christ. CLASS 501 develops an understanding of worship from a biblical, historical, and contemporary perspective.

Held throughout the year as needed, this CLASS series fits both new believers and those with a long time walk with God. CLASS 101 is a requirement for membership at Metropolitan. CLASS 201 and 301 are required for anyone wanting to do ministry with this church family. CLASS 401 helps those who will be going on Short or Long Term missions, for those doing street evangelism, and for every believer who believes in the Great Commission. Everyone is encouraged to take CLASS 501 in order to understand worshiping in Spirit and truth. Each CLASS series runs from 5 to 6 weeks. The facilitators tend to be flexible, so the sessions may be held Sunday mornings from 9:15 to 10:45 or Sunday evenings from 6:00 to 7:30 depending on the makeup and preferences of the students for that semester. Certificates of Completion are given during the morning worship service to those who attend at least 4 of the 5 sessions, and makeup sessions can be scheduled with the series facilitator.
